Launch of Shapes magazine

Launch of this year’s first issue of SHAPES magazine at our Karlín showroom.

Last week, we had the honor of hosting a special event—the launch of this year’s first issue of SHAPES magazine. Our showroom in Karlín was transformed into a space for inspiration, gathering, and dialogue about architecture, design, and urban space.

The main theme of this issue is the collaboration between architect Jakub Cigler and developer Petr Michálek on the Dřevák project—a wooden building with 76 apartments that will be built on a brownfield site in Prague’s Radlice district. Dřevák aims to change perspectives on sustainability and the modern form of urban development.

The launch event itself was hosted by the very protagonists featured on the cover—Jakub Cigler and Petr Michálek—who ensured a powerful and authentic moment for the entire evening. The duo was joined by Czech visual artist and abstract painter Milan Houser, whose work was on display for guests to view directly in our showroom, courtesy of the Kvalitář Gallery.

The evening concluded with a pleasant surprise: a raffle for the iconic CH24 Wishbone Chair, which also appeared on the magazine’s cover. We congratulate the lucky winner and hope she enjoys it for many years to come.

A community of personalities from the fields of development, architecture, design, and art is gradually forming around SHAPES magazine. All these sectors are naturally interconnected, which is why we are delighted that the magazine serves as a platform for connecting these worlds

Thank you to everyone who came, shared their thoughts with us, and helped create a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. And of course, a big thank you to the SHAPES editorial team for their trust—it was an honor to be part of this event.

We look forward to our next get-together!
