Akari 75A is a pendant light with a round shade made from traditional Japanese washi paper. The fine paper texture and visible bamboo ribbing give it a light, natural presence, while the illuminated shade casts soft, diffused light.

Each light is handcrafted in the family-run Ozeki workshop in Gifu, Japan. Strips of washi paper made from mulberry bark are glued onto bamboo ribbing shaped over a wooden form. A stylised sun-and-moon symbol marks the authenticity of the Akari collection.

The shade measures 75 cm in diameter and the pendant cable is 220 cm long. The light has an E27 socket with a maximum wattage of 12 W. Vitra specifies a non-dimmable 4 W LED light source with a colour temperature of 2700 K.
