The Rigadino rug, designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, draws inspiration from historic Venetian craftsmanship and the traditional patterns of Murano glass. She translates the distinctive “rigadin” striped motif into a striking textile composition in which the lines intertwine to create an almost hypnotic image.

The rug is made of 100% wool and is hand-tufted. Its irregular outline is accentuated by a wide border featuring distinctive black lines, which further emphasizes the dynamism of the entire design. The striking color combinations echo other designs by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, such as the Sestiere vases and the No Vanitas mirror.

Rigadino functions almost as a standalone work of art in an interior—it combines traditional inspiration with a distinctive contemporary style and defines a space not only through color but also through its unmistakable organic pattern.
