Soft Pad Chair EA 222 by Charles and Ray Eames combines a slender aluminium structure with soft upholstery. A high backrest and low seat create a comfortable place to unwind.
Five individually sewn-on cushions with polyurethane foam padding give the chair its distinctive sculpted appearance. The backward tilt mechanism can be adjusted to the user’s weight for a smooth, comfortable recline. Its four-star swivel base has a choice of glides for carpet or hard floors.
The aluminium frame, armrests and base are available with a polished, chrome-plated or powder-coated finish. Fabric and leather covers allow the chair to suit different interiors, with leather versions featuring a Plano fabric back panel. EA 222 is well suited to reading and relaxed moments in the living room.
