Vitra Home Stories for Winter

Vitra Home Stories for Winter

An Ottoman as a Gift

In 2011, Vitra, in collaboration with Italian designer Antonio Citterio, introduced the Repos and Grand Repos armchairs, which perfectly combine exceptional aesthetics and comfort. Thanks to high-quality upholstery, a tall ergonomic backrest, a swivel base, and an innovative synchronous mechanism, the armchair offers comfortable seating that is further enhanced when used with an Ottoman or Panchina footrest from the same collection. The backrest can be locked in any position.

In 2019, Antonio Citterio followed up on the successful Grand Repos with another exceptionally comfortable armchair, the Grand Relax. The shape of the seat, the selected upholstery materials, and the soft cushioning: all these details literally invite you to relax, read, watch TV, and take a short nap. The exterior of the Grand Relax armchair is upholstered in luxurious and durable split leather, while the interior—comprising soft cushions—can be chosen from premium leather or several types of attractive fabrics.

Buy a Grand Relax, Repos, or Grand Repos armchair and receive an Ottoman or Panchina footrest as a gift.

The offer is valid from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025. The Ottoman or Panchina footstool will be delivered in the same configuration as the purchased chair.

Lounge Chair – a timeless classic

Charles and Ray Eames introduced the Lounge Chair in 1956, radically changing the long-held notions of what a club chair should be: their design was light, elegant, and offered exceptional comfort. Thanks to these exceptional qualities, the Lounge Chair has become one of the most famous classics in the history of modern furniture.

Vitra Cushions

Vitra Cushions is a new collection of cushions available in several sizes. They can serve as backrests or decorative cushions. They are suitable not only for Vitra sofas and armchairs but also for benches, chairs, or other seating furniture. The cushions provide pleasant comfort and are available in fabric and leather upholstery in many different colors that can be easily combined.

The filling contains no animal-derived materials, such as feathers, but is made of either recycled PET or polyester fibers. Both of these materials are 100% recyclable.

Ball Clocks – LIMITED EDITION

In 1947, American designer George Nelson was commissioned to design a comprehensive series of 14 wall and table clocks. The collection was launched two years later.

One of the first designs was the Ball Clock, which over time became an icon of American mid-century design. Over the course of 35 years, the Nelson Associates studio designed more than 100 different variations of the Nelson Clocks collection. Vitra launched this series in 1999.

In 2024, Vitra celebrates the 25th anniversary of the re-edition of the Wall Clock and the 75th anniversary of its original launch. To mark this occasion, a limited edition of the Ball Clock has been created in four color combinations named Dawn, Sunrise, Sunset, and Dusk, which refer to the four different parts of the day—dawn, sunrise, sunset, and dusk. Each color variant will be produced in a limited run of 600 pieces.
