Bascule

Bascule is a new lounge chair from Vitra that uniquely combines comfort, innovation, and distinctive design. It was created in collaboration with the Berlin-based studio Œ, founded by designers Lisa Ertel and Anne-Sophie Oberkrome. Their approach is rooted in observing everyday life and seeking thoughtful solutions that naturally blend function and aesthetics.

At the heart of the chair is an innovative mechanism that automatically adjusts to the user’s weight and responds smoothly to every movement. It allows you to effortlessly transition from an upright sitting position to a deep recline, creating an exceptionally natural and comfortable seating experience.

A distinctive feature of the Bascule is its loosely cut fabric cover, inspired by tailoring techniques. It drapes over the chair’s frame much like a coat, giving it a soft, relaxed silhouette that highlights its unique character.

Panton Cubes

Verner Panton designed the Panton Cubes in the 1970s and used them to assemble a wide variety of shapes. This modular system consists of square frames that are joined together to form cubes, which are then connected with clips and covered with colored or chrome-plated panels, creating various objects. The magic, however, lies not in the construction itself, but in what can be created with it: sculptures, figurines, abstract objects—the possibilities are endless.

Each kit contains the pieces needed to assemble the corresponding animal figure—but the possibilities go even further, allowing for countless other creative combinations.

In collaboration with Verner Panton Design AG, Vitra has created a new edition of this design classic and is launching the Panton Cubes set as a construction kit featuring four different animal designs: a charming duck, a majestic flamingo, a cat whose silhouette balances on the border between grace and abstraction, and a giraffe whose elegant height resembles a miniature architectural masterpiece.

Mynt Soft

Vitra has now expanded the Mynt line with the new Mynt High and Mynt Soft models. A dark veneer is now also available for the seat and backrest.

The compact Mynt Soft armchair combines the innovative and dynamic experience characteristic of the Mynt line with soft upholstery.

Uten.Silo

In 1969, Dorothee Becker designed the practical Uten.Silo RE I organizer, and in 1970 she added the smaller Uten.Silo RE II. These wall-mounted systems, equipped with compartments of various shapes and sizes, metal hooks, and clips, bring order to offices, kitchens, workshops, bathrooms, and children’s rooms.

In 2025, Vitra adapted its production to use recycled post-industrial ABS plastic and added the colors “Japanese red” and “horizontal blue” to the existing lineup, which previously included only dark black and white. We are continuing to update the product line by adding six new colors to the Uten.Silo RE II collection: “tangerine,” “golden olive,” “citron,” “lilac,” “cashew,” and “petrol.” As a result, the Uten.Silo RE II is now available in a color to suit every taste and every interior.
