After Verner Panton designed a one-piece all-plastic chair, it took several years to find a manufacturer.
He first came into contact with Vitra in 1963 and together they developed the Panton chair, which was introduced in 1967.
It was hailed as a sensation and won numerous awards.
The original version of the chair with a glossy lacquered finish is still sold today as the Panton Chair Classic.
