Flow Zone is a project implemented on the roof of the amazing Flow building. The Flow Building, a unique structure located on the corner of Wenceslas Square and Opletalovy Street right in the centre of Prague.
One of the biggest challenges was the unconventional curved glass and aluminium façade. To make the facade look in harmony with the surrounding buildings, the architects designed a stone cladding made of Spiš travertine (a rock similar to limestone). It was also necessary, for example, to build a service footbridge around the perimeter of the building, which is projecting in front of the windows and the inner façade. The footbridge is protected from strong winds by the so-called cold outer façade;
The Flow Building is the first building in the Czech Republic to achieve the highest possible rating of "outstanding" under the current BREEAM certification scheme. BREEAM is the leading international method of assessing the sustainability of buildings using third-party auditing and certification, ensuring that certified buildings are the best examples of environmentally friendly construction in a global context.
