An interior that serves a gastronomic experience and visually.
After the success of the Prague bistro FATFUCK, the owners decided to expand to Brno with a clear vision - to build on the successful concept, but at the same time create a unique space that is authentic to the new location. Another key requirement was to maximize the use of the space, which is crucial in the gastronomy industry for the economic sustainability of the operation;
The studio decided to connect the interior with what is served on the plate. Therefore, the interior features materials commonly associated with the kitchen, not necessarily with the gastro operation itself. Stainless steel, baking paper and yellow accents inspired by the color of cheddar create a novel visual identity that directly references the establishment's menu;
The stainless steel surfaces in the interior were designed with distinctive cut-outs and complemented with backlighting. The bar counter was again "wrapped" in baking paper instead of the traditional lining. Both of these elements were realized by the studio itself; To make the interior not only aesthetic but also fully functional, the studio used every available centimetre of the total 45 m2. This created seating in the windows, which increased the capacity of the bistro but also provided an interesting connection to the street life.
An important part of the interior design is the combination of bespoke elements and standard products, which has kept the budget within reasonable limits while creating an original design. An example is the central light fitting above the main table - it is a modified standard model that has been complemented by a mirror that reflects the feast of burgers and crispy fries taking place below.
FATFUCK Brno shows that even a small gastro interior can be bold, playful and yet fully functional. By combining visuals with the gastronomic offer, innovative use of space and a combination of standard and bespoke elements, an interior has been created that not only underlines the brand identity, but also provides a unique experience for every guest.
